I even thinck he wrote an essay about armored divisions and their huge offensive potential before the Germans (Guderian) created their own Panzerdivisionen. By the way, during the campaign of France 1940 he was one of the only French commanders (I thinck he was colonel at the time) who succesfully led his tanks to significant victories against German Panzerdivisionen.

Thx for your visit on my blog! Yo...Hello Maximex,

Thx for your visit on my blog! You're completely right except that the tank is a H39 instead of a H35. The main differences between the two tanks is that the 37 mm gun is longer (which means better antitank power)and that the engine deck is flatter and more square because the engine was also larger than on the H35 (the H39 was a bit faster and mor reliable than the H35 and the H38). Nevertheles your comment is completely right about French tanks. These were excellent but the biggest probem was the lack of a third crew. The turret being often made for one person, the tank commander, he was assigned all the tasks: firing, reloading and commanding the tank. Too many things to do at the same time, especially if you are not supported by infantry!!!!!!
An exception to this was the Renault ACG1 which allowed two men in the turret but there were too few of these and their armour wasn't thick enough + these were a bit outdated when the war broke out. It had nevertheless a powerfull 47mm gun (which was very efficient in early WWII).

ThierryThierry Tishhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14776206398738586766noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9095061401015149072.post-69068185864000713482013-06-29T08:08:17.298+02:002013-06-29T08:08:17.298+02:00Hello Philippe,
